Allogeneic bone powders and granules BIOBank

Allogeneic bone powders and granules from BIOBank

Bone grafting in orthognathic surgery is a valuable tool for improving stability, aesthetics, and healing after jaw repositioning. It is not systematic, but its use is particularly relevant in cases of significant advancement, intersegmental gaps, or complex reconstructions. Discover the entire range of BIOBank allogeneic bone dedicated to maxillofacial surgery.

BONE POWDERS

Available in two compositions to best meet different indications:

  • Cancellous bone powders: composed of 100% cancellous bone, they have a short remodeling time, promoting rapid integration. They are particularly indicated for osteotomy fillers, when the objective is to achieve rapid bone remodeling.

They are available:

  • in two particle sizes: S (0.5 mm) and L (1 mm)
  • in two packaging formats depending on the reference: bottle or syringe

  • Cortico-cancellous bone powders: composed of a balanced mixture of 50% cancellous bone and 50% cortical bone, they offer more gradual remodeling than cancellous powder alone. This characteristic allows for more lasting maintenance of the grafted volume over time. They are particularly suitable for pre-implant surgery and genioplasty.

They are available:

  • in particle size S (0.5 mm)
  • in two packaging options depending on the product: bottle or syringe

THE RANGE OF BONE POWDERS

USE

  • The bone powder in the vial can be rehydrated directly in its container with a sterile 0.9% sodium chloride solution, which promotes the cohesion of the powder grains and facilitates handling.
  • The syringe format allows for aseptic transfer of a sterile 0.9% sodium chloride solution using the Luer-lock connector provided. Watch the tutorial on rehydrating bone powder in a syringe.

SPONGY BONE GRANULES

Cancellous bone granules are used for osteotomy fillings when the surgeon requires a certain degree of mechanical strength.

THE RANGE OF SPONGY BONE GRANULES

USE

  • Granules in vial → rehydration with saline solution (10 minutes)
  • Granules in syringe → direct aseptic transfer of 0.9% sodium chloride (10 minutes)

TRACEABILITY

Each product package contains the following forms:

  • Graft identification form To be filed in the patient’s medical record
  • Implantation form To be returned, duly completed and signed, to BIOBank
